greasy hair fix

so i rarely straighten my hair… especially not when there’s still even a drop of humidity in the air. i usually don’t start until november or december, but it was my cousin katy’s wedding this past saturday, and i wanted to look nice… generally speaking, whenever i straighten my hair, i leave it for like 3 days. SOMETIMES i push it to a fourth day. this morning was my third day with it, since i worked on straightening it on friday night (around midnight). being that i was dancing up a storm on saturday, my hair kind of waved/curled and it def. brought on the grease. when i woke up this morning, i went over it again with the brush/blow dryer and right at the front, the entire frame of my faces hair was just GUHHHHHreasy. like maybe a quarter of an inch into the hair, but still, the most noticeable. i looked online quickly and it said that alcohol (more specifically, wet wipes) or corn starch would do the trick. so i grabbed one and went to work. apparently, the brand that i buy (cottonelle) don’t have alcohol in them and i realized it after rubbing my hair with it, lol.
since my only other option was using the corn starch that i had in the house, i did just that… AND IT WORKED. it was like magic! for myself, i used just a light shake or two and started at the roots and moved down. you have to try to blend the white powder out kind of vigorously. i have just below the shoulder length hair and the two light shakes were fine for each side.
i don’t know why i never bothered to look like this up, and none of my girlfriends ever told me about this trick, but i figured i’d share this with whoever reads this website… 🙂
